"Kairi? I think we're in trouble..."

"Hey! Wake up!"

A voice in her mind rose Kairi from her sleep. She looked around.

Once.

Twice.

That's strange. Destiny Island look so different... and very modern. There was a gigantic TV screen on top of her and there were a lot of guys with strange stiff suits walking around the area. The people seem to pass her by without giving her much thought. The girls were wearing almost to nothing, with their mini skirts and low cut shirts. Kairi was amazed at the number of people suddenly reappearing. Was she in the future?

"Kairi! We have to focus here!"

Kairi's imagination snapped and she turned around to see Sora. His face looked worried as he scanned the crowd. She realized that his hand was holding her shoulder as she was sitting down the street. There weren't many cars around and people didn't bother to look at them and just merely walked away. Again, this is all very strange.

"Sora, where ARE we?" she asked, her voice panicking.

"I'm not sure but... it looks very different from our own world, isn't it?"

Sora helped Kairi stand up and they both looked around the area. Hand in hand, not wanting to be separated, they marched down a few streets until they were tired. This area is certainly bigger than Destiny Islands so they were sure that this was not home.

Sora tried to ask a couple of people but they don't seem to hear or acknowledge them. This is certainly strange. Kairi was upset and Sora was worried. He tried to summon his Keyblade but it won't appear and the same goes to Kairi. They were defenseless and scared.

"W-Wow, it's really noisy here."

Kairi tried to sound as calm as possible but even Sora knew how scared she was deep inside. They walked around again and found a whole street filled with shops and realized they were hungry. They tried to order foor but realized that they didn't have any money so they walked away and let the shopkeeper tend the other customers.

Hungry and desperate, Sora and Kairi sat down on the pavement. Kairi was close to tears and Sora was exasperated with his princess. He didn't like seeing Kairi cry but there was nothing he could do.

Out of nowhere, a loud cry emerged and the couple stood up. A shadow appeared and began to form.

"S-Sora! What is that!?" Kairi screamed in distress.

The shadow turned into a frog and began to multiply. One. Two. After a short while, Sora was facing a number of frogs and little tadpoles surrounding it. Everything was suddenly quiet and though there were still people about, they didn't seem to realize the danger they were in. The frogs didn't seem to bother with those people and kept their attention closely on the two.

Scared out of his wits, Sora gritted his teeth and tried to summon his Keyblade but his powers escaped him. The frogs were closer now and they looked really... hungry.

They leaped towards him and Sora hugged Kairi desperately and closed his eyes.

I'm going to die and the Princess is going to die with me... he thought.

Suddenly there was a flash of light and a loud shriek. Sora dared to open his eyes and in front of him was a boy dressed in blue. The enemies have disappeared so Sora guessed that he was the one who destroyed them.

"Thank you!" he whispered out to the boy.

The boy turned around and Sora realized that he was roughly the same age. His eyes were cold but there was definitely something more than he let on. The boy nodded and began to walk away.

"NEKU!"

Kairi jumped and Sora looked around. Was it another one of those monsters? They both turned around and found the source of the noise. It was a girl, again, roughly the same age as Kairi and she seemed to be calling the boy but the boy looked around frantically and tried to hide behind Sora.

"Your girlfriend?" Sora teased.

"Shut up." The boy replied.

The girl approached them hurriedly and she looked really upset. She walked around Sora and screamed her lungs out towards the boy. Sora and Kairi just stood there, feeling very uncomfortable with the situation and they were about to walk away when the girl called them.

"I'm sorry that he's being a total prick! He doesn't like people you see," the girl smiled. "I'm Shiki and as you probably heard me call him, this brute here is Neku!"

Kairi inspected the girl and realized that she was slightly shorter than her. She had the same red hair only messier and much longer than Kairi's. Shiki wore a ridiculously small outfit that shows most of her skin and although Kairi could say the same thing with her outfit, she would never expose her navel like that.

The girl continued talking with Sora and Kairi realized that she was carrying some sort of cat in her hands. It looked dead.

"Why are you carrying a dead cat?" Kairi asked.

Shiki looked puzzled and looked down at her stuffed animal.

"Oh this? This is Mr. Mew!"

"...Piggy." Neku said rather loudly.

"He is NOT a pig!" But before Shiki went full out mad, Neku raised his hand towards her.

"So who are you guys? We introduced ourselves but we don't have a clue about you."

Sora looked up but as he was about to speak, his stomach growled. Kairi turned red and glared at Sora for being such a goof. Shiki giggled and Neku simply smiled.

"Okay, let's eat first, then we'll talk. Do you guys have money?"

The couple shook their heads.

"As expected. Come with us. Shiki, lead the way."

They walked for a relatively short while until they came upon some sort of cafe. Neku entered first and was greeted kindly by what seemed to be the cafe manager.

"Hey, Phones. I see you brought friends."

Neku smiled lightly at the nickname and Shiki motioned the couple inside. Sora and Kairi sat down, suspicious and scared.

"Don't worry about anything, I won't hurt you."

Sora looked at the man. He was wearing some sort of suit like... like that bartender in Destiny Islands. The man was thin and his hair was messy. He didn't look nice but his tone was friendly although not at all that gentle.

"Here's the menu. I'm guessing that Phones here will pay for your meal so eat all you want. Scratch that, it's in the house. You guys looked worn out so you can eat all you want."

"Thanks." Sora mumbled and Kairi nudged him with her elbow.

"What was that for?" he whispered as the other three began to talk.

"You should learn how to say 'thank you' properly!" Kairi replied.

They ordered their meals and the food came. Kairi's eyes shone with hunger and as she thanked the people, Sora gulped down his first bite. Kairi felt embarrassed but what could she do? That's Sora for you.

"So... what's your name?" Shiki asked, curiosity was practically written all over her.

"My name is Kairi and this is Sora. We were on our way to our friend's house when all of a sudden, this huge hole opened up below us and we were sucked inside. When I woke up, I was on the street with people passing me by and on top of me was this gigantic TV that showed all sorts of pictures from one minute to the next!"

Kairi realized that she had spoken too much and closed her mouth, feeling very embarrassed.

"You guys are not from around here, aren't you?" Shiki asked, her tone turning soft.

Kairi looked down at her food.

Sora looked at the girl, lost in her own little world, knowing that she's as scared as he was right now but he had nothing to say. He continued to eat his food but kept a brief introduction from where he and Kairi came from. The others looked kind of surprised at their story, not believing that they didn't come from this sort of place.

Silence followed suit when Sora finished telling them about his tale.

"Ah!" Shiki exclaimed so suddenly, Neku even jumped and proceeded to glare at her, of course, Shiki feigned ignorance.

"I forgot to introduce you guys to Mr. Hanekoma." Shiki widely exclaimed.

Sora and Kairi looked up to her expectantly.

Shiki dragged the bartender like man in front of them.

"This man here, is Mr. Hanekoma! Sanae Hanekoma! He's the owner of this cafe and his hobby is--"

Her sentence was cut short when Mr. Hanekoma placed his hand firmly over her mouth.

"Now, now, that's classified information, missy! You guys can call me Mr. H and you're welcome at this cafe anytime so don't be shy!"

Sora grinned widely and Kairi watched in horror as he finished his food in one gulp. Boys and their appetite.

Kairi looked down at her food, no longer hungry, but she knew it would be rude if she didn't finish it. Kairi finished her plate and was wishing that she was home. She glanced at the clock at the far end of the wall and its short hand was gesturing to the number 3. At this time of the day, Kairi would be playing blitz ball in the middle of the heat with Wakka, Selphie, Tidus, Sora and Riku. Riku. Was he worried? They were supposed to come to him today for a special event but unfortunately that was all cancelled now that they're shipwrecked to another dimension.

"Hello? Earth to Kairi?" Sora snapped her from her daydream.

She lookd up and found everyone staring at her. Oh dear, that's just plain embarrassing.

"You okay?" Neku murmured.

Shiki looked shocked but said nothing. Even Mr. H smiled slightly at Neku's comment. Kairi nodded and Neku proceeded to put his earphones back on their original place, his ears.

"Is that guy always like that?" Sora whispered to Shiki.

Shiki nodded with a frown.

"Now," Mr. H adjusted his seating and everyone looked at him. "How about we think of a plan to get you guys home?"

"That's a great idea!" Shiki exclaimed bouncing up and down her seat.

"But how...?"

Everyone contemplated the last question. No one really knew the answer and if Mr. H is puzzled, this day could be longer than ever.

"I have never met anyone who could jump into different dimensions before."

Mr. H strolled around the shop, deep in thought with his eyebrows knitted together. He seemed lost. Shiki looked like she was thinking but Kairi wasn't so sure. She had a dazed look in her eyes and she keeps on tapping her chin with her index finger as if she's trying to recall what she was thinking earlier on. Neku... well, he didn't look like he cared. His eyes were closed and with his headphones on, he could probably be sleeping.

"Yo, Phones. You thinking?" Mr. H seemed to read Kairi's mind.

"I'm thinking," came a very reluctant answer.

"Enlighten us, Neku," Mr. H smiles wickedly.

Neku opened one eye and straightened up.

"What if we try looking around the place where they first appeared? Maybe we could find some sort of black hole... or something like that. You said," Neku pointed at Kairi. "That you guys were swallowed up from a hole, right? Well, be descriptive. What are we looking for?"

Kairi and Sora looked at each other. It was Sora who finally answered his question.

"A hole bigger than the size of the street. It's not that hard to find really."

"Is it bigger than the square below the gigantic TV?" Shiki asked, curious.

"No, it's definitely smaller than that but it isn't something you would miss. It's mostly black but towards the center it's quite blue-ish and purple."

Everyone was once more lost in their own thoughts. Mr. H suddenly stood up, causing everyone to jump. He went behind the bar and looked through the rack of books. Funny, Kairi didn't notice those books were there. She was always keen on them. After a few agonizing moments, Mr. H seemed to find what he was looking for.

"Tell me, Spikey." Oh, Sora got a nickname! "Does the hole look more or less like this?"

Kairi looked at the picture along with Sora.

"Yes! That's the one!" Kairi gasped.

Mr. H turned pale and Kairi knew something was wrong.

"That's no good. How long have you guys been in this world?"

"We found them at around 1 o'clock." Neku said.

"It wasn't exactly that long before we met them so it's probably some time between 12 and 1?" Kairi did the math and she realized that she was only gone for a short period of time. Surely they could still make it, albeit, late by 3 hours. Riku would be mad.

Mr. H pushed his spectacles up, as if trying to hide from them.

"You two kids just passed through a Black Cloud. I don't really know much about it except through this book. I thought those were just legends. So the Black Cloud is essentially that. A black cloud. But it does have powers to transport people to different parts of the world or in extreme cases like you guys, to another completely different universe.

"This is something I'm not even sure could happen. We have no records on when they appear. Hell, we don't even know if they really exist. Well, until today that is. Side effects aside, this is the worst form of portals."

"S-Side effects?" Kairi stammered, trying to keep her voice even.

"Oh yeah, side-effects. You guys could be separated to different universe for all I know. But enough chatter, we need to track that Cloud and bring you back to your own universe. Before the portal closes."

"How long does it usually stay open?" Shiki asked.

"Not long," was Hanekoma's only answer and a chill ran through Kairi's spine. 'Not long'? How long is that? Short?

"Like, very short?" Kairi was afraid to ask but she had no choice, she needed to know.

"Yes, very short."

"Then what are we doing, sitting around? Let's go!" Sora exclaimed.

"It's not that easy, Sora. We need to find the exact Black Cloud you guys came from. The exact one. Not some random ones, that might throw you back to a totally different universe and I'm pretty sure some people aren't as keen to help you guys."

"Let's go." Neku said simply.

Kairi could see that Shiki flushed and she wondered whether she likes him. Shiki never mentioned that they were a couple.

Mr. H began to describe what they need.

"Okay first off, you need an exact picture of where you want to go. Not just some random picture but an exact location. Where were you guys from again? Destiny Island? Then picture that. The city, the sky, the beach, the people. Everything. I want it clear in your head once you jump into that hole. Make one mistake and you won't be coming back. Ever.

Okay, the second thing is about finding the right hole. I'm not sure about this but I'll go by the book. It says here to use your guts, so I'm guessing this is a life and death situation here but from what I have heard from elderly stories, you guys have to know your Black Cloud. Sora, you know its size, right? Keep that in mind when looking for it. You know the exact color of it so you need to catch up with that too. Make no mistake."

Mr. H's eyes were boring to them as he explained the instructions carefully. He proceeded to give them a small plastic bag with... a white pin inside?

"What's this?" Sora asked, turning the pin around.

"That's a pin, it controls your psyche."

"My what!?"

"Sora! Behave!"

"Yes, your psyche. It's, to put it simply, your weapon. Wear it and check it out."

Hesitating, Kairi and Sora wore the pins.

"Nothing happens?" Kairi asked feeling bewildered.

"Do you have a weapon or some kind? Unless you're like Neku."

"We have a weapon!"

"I don't see any."

"That's cause we summon them!"

Sora looked at his hand and tried to summon the Keyblade, again to no avail. He thought for a moment and picked up a spoon.

"Stand back, everybody!"

"You're going to fight with a spoon?" Neku asked, bemused.

"No, but just watch!"

Sora closed his eyes and when he opened them, his face was hard and he tried to summon his Keyblade one more time.

A shining light appeared in his hands and voila, the spoon was now replaced by a Keyblade. It was none other than the original Keyblade, the one with the golden hilt and a silver blade.

"Aww, I was hoping for the King's Keyblade or even Oathkeeper, but no. I have to be stuck with you." Sora scowled.

Kairi smiled. "At least you have yours with you. I'll try if I can summon mine."

Kairi picked up a fork and tried to summon her Keyblade. The Keyblade appeared on her head, exchanging the fork just like Sora.

"Hey, not fair! You get to wield a cooler one!"

"Sora, Destiny's Embrace is the ONLY Keyblade I have wield. It's obvious that I would get this one."

Neku's eyes looked like as if they were about to pop from his eyes and Shiki looked really shocked and covered her mouth. Mr. H just looked... the same?

"You're not surprised?"

"Oh, I am very surprised. Who knew you guys were Keyblade wielders? I had an old friend who could wield a Keyblade as well, I wonder how he is. You guys better go, don't want the portal to close, right?"

Mr. H smiled and sent them out on their journey.

"So... that's your umm.. sword?" Shiki asked nervously.

"Yeah," Kairi looked at her Keyblade. She loved the design. It suits Kairi very much.

"Golden, to show royalty and the flowers, to show kindness and maybe to give it a more feminine feature? Oh and the heart, to show us that you're the true Princess of Heart. I don't know, that's just the way I see it." Kairi remembered Sora saying it after their journey and blushed.

As she was distracted, she didn't realize of the shadow moving before her until it materialized into a gigantic bear.

"Kairi! Watch out!" Sora exclaimed as he went over and sliced the bear.

The shadow bear roared and charged at Sora but he was too fast. Sora dashed away quickly but stumbled over. As the beast charged towards him, Neku appeared and summoned the fire to burn the bear. Shiki helped by making Mr. Mew attack the bear as well.

After a good whip, the bear disappeared and in its place were pins.

"What are those?"

"Pins." came Neku's curt reply and Sora ceased to ask anymore questions.

"You okay?" Shiki helped Kairi stand up.

"Yeah... Just a bit shocked."

"These things are definitely more dangerous than Heartlesses." Sora commented and Kairi nodded in agreement.

"Come on, we better hurry and find you guys your black hole."

The group went around every district and tried to find the hole Kairi and Sora were talking about. They looked high and low and even in the most unusual places like the roof of the 104 building and in shopping malls while at the same time, conquering the Noise, as Neku called them.

Sora soon realized that it was pointless to run away from the Noise because they keep coming back. Just like the Shadows. The only way to beat them is to turn them into a pin, which seemed to be achieved by quickly finishing them off, however gruesome it sounded.

Neku explained they were nothing more than shadows and it shouldn't be a bother for anyone to destroy it. Yet more than once Kairi fell over, too scared to kill a penguin or a pig.

"Come on, Kai! You've got to pull it together!" Sora scolded her when she was nearly "erased" by a penguin.

"They look like animals," Kairi muttered.

"They're dangerous! And you've got your Keyblade with you! At least try to defend yourself!" Sora was exasperated.

Kairi simply looked at him but she nodded and after that, the battles went on more smoothly, if not slightly stiff.

They found a lot of Black Clouds along the way and Sora nearly jumped inside one until Kairi said that the hole changed its color as soon as his feet were above ground. Surely enough, when Sora jumped, the hole changed from midnight blue to bright orange. Sora was so scared that he grabbed all four of his companion and ran like something was chasing him.

"We'll never find it at this rate!" exclaimed Shiki as she sat down on the pavement, clearly tired.

She opened a bottle of water, drank and shared the rest of the content with Kairi, who gladly gulped down the drink.

"There's one more place we need to check."

Neku's face was a hard line as he crossed off their nearest expedition in the subway.

"Where's that?" Shiki asked.

"Hachiko..." Neku's voice trailed off.

Shiki's eyes widened and she jumped to her feet.

"Let's go! We're wasting precious time! Come on guys, up up up!" she encouraged them as she pulled Sora off to his feet and Kairi as well.

The four, with renowned hope, raced to the Hachiko statue and voila, below the statue was a gigantic hole.

"Sora?"

"Perfect size."

"Kairi?"

Kairi looked around the hole and jumped once. Then she decided to put her arm over the hole to see if the color change. The color stayed the same and they were sure that this was the exact same hole they were forced into.

"Alright. I guess this is goodbye then..." Shiki smiled but the smile didn't quite reach her eyes.

"We'll meet again, somehow," Kairi said and tears began to pour from her face. In such a short time, she was able to be friends with people from another part of the universe.

"Aww, Kai, don't cry! It makes me want to cry too!" Shiki exclaimed and both girls sobbed together.

Feeling very uncomfortable, Neku held out his hand to Sora.

"Been nice knowing you man..."

"For a couple of hours." He added.

Sora turned to him and with utter comical shock, Neku was forced to realize that this chestnut haired dude is also crying.

"Hey, don't cry. You're embarrassing me." Neku murmured.

"I'm joking, bro."

Sora smiled and shook Neku's hand.

After the crying fest, Kairi took Sora's hand in hers and waved at Shiki and Neku.

"Don't forget! Imagine Destiny Islands! Make it as real as possible!" Shiki called out rather loudly that Kairi was sure someone would look at them but she soon realize that everyone doesn't seem to pay attention much. How rude.

"Bye!" Sora called out.

"Ready, Kai?"

Kairi nodded and they both jumped inside.

The hole sucked them up good and the last thing Kairi imagined was sitting down in the ice cream parlour with Selphie by her side.

"Kai, Kai, wake up"

Kairi groaned and remembering what had happened, she sat up. She looked around her and realized that nothing has changed. She was back in Destiny Island and Sora was still with her.

"We made it! But I guess we're very late to Riku's..." he trailed off and looked up.

Kairi also looked up and realized that the sun was about to rise. They had gone for at least a day!

The streets were empty but it was obvious. Kairi glanced around. It looked like Destiny Island but is it really? What if they're in an alternate reality?

Kairi looked at Sora and she noticed that he was thinking of the exact same thing. They wandered around nervously until they reached Riku's house. They knocked once. Then twice and they heard a muffled sound from inside.

A very sleepy and angry Riku opened the door to find his two best friends shining his eyes at them.

"Do you know what time it is? And why didn't you come today?" Riku muttered sleepily but inside, he was glad that they were safe.

"RIKU!" Both exclaimed as they proceeded to hug the silver haired boy.

"I'm not going to ask..." Riku muffled, defeated under the two.

"Hey Sora," Kairi started as they sat down on Riku's living room. "Do you think Mr. H knew The King?"

Sora looked at her. "Nah, impossible." He finally said.

"After today, I think anything is possible." she muttered.

"Who knows? Maybe we'll seriously meet them again?" Sora yawned.

And they did.
Here it is folks! Kingdom Hearts x TWEWY!

Not bad. In fact, quite good as far as fanfics are usually concerned. :D
